What is On Point?
On Point is a local acupuncture service available for adults and children with a variety of medical or pain related needs. Research supports the use of acupuncture for many conditions and sources of pain; musculoskeletal, knee osteoarthritis, migraine and tension headaches, shoulder and elbow, overactive bladder syndrome, nausea, women’s health issues and insomnia and many others.
Our treatment is based on the use of western medical acupuncture, which is a contemporary adaptation of traditional acupuncture founded upon principles of neurophysiology and evidence-based medicine. Operating from the Holistic therapy room in ProAction Martial Arts and Fitness Academy, treatment is personalised and based on individual needs. A full assessment will be completed and options for full treatment discussed. Treatments may be as a one off or a series of sessions to achieve the desired outcome.
About the acupuncturist
Jas is qualified in the use of western medical acupuncture (both manual and electro-acupuncture) with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS). She is a practising midwife and is passionate about holistic care. She has been providing midwifery care for women and their families in the Northampton and London area for the past 10 years. Working with these families in their homes has fuelled her passion to gain further understanding in complementary and alternative therapies to support the medical approach used in midwifery practice.
Her experience in the effectiveness of complementary therapies led her on to undergo the nationally recognised acupuncture training with BMAS. As a fully qualified acupuncturist she uses her professional healthcare training and experience of the human body to provide acupuncture that supports the treatment of issues with a western medical diagnosis.
She has a special interest in both pregnancy related and general musculoskeletal pain. This comes from her passion for health and fitness and a strong belief that acupuncture can be highly beneficial as a holistic health treatment to support the body’s general wellbeing and healing.
